His Faithfulness

I love places like this, where I can be alone with God. A place that represents His beauty, His strength. It’s a place that allows me to reflect on the path I’ve chosen for my life.

There was a time, years ago, my life was in much turmoil. I think back on those times and thank God I made it through them. Honestly, if it weren’t for God, I wouldn’t have made it through those times!

That evening, many years ago, when I alone, stood at the altar and surrendered was the major turning point in my life!

Has my life been perfect since? No.
Have I made all the right choices since? No.
Have I remained faithful to Him since? Not always.
But, He has always remained faithful and steadfast in my life! Always, even when I backslid for awhile.

But, just as the Prodigal Son returned home, so did I. And I saw Him faithfully waiting for me, with outstretched arms, ready and willing to welcome me home.

He is forever faithful to us. No matter what!

“For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.”
Psalm 117:2

There were times when I just didn’t want to even get dressed … for days on end. I wouldn’t shower, wash my hair, or brush my teeth…for DAYS! I couldn’t. It wasnt that I didnt want to. Because I really did!

Then there were the days where I felt like the world would be a better place without me. My husband could find someone who wasnt such a mess. My family and friends wouldn’t be let down all the time by someone who was supposed to always have their back.

Depression is a debilitating disease. It doesn’t just affect that one person. It affects everyone around them!

I thank GOD every day that I have found freedom from this horrific pain! It wasnt easy. But, it can be done.

Talk to someone … today … right now, reach out! It will save your life, and the ones you love.

John 10:10 NLT … The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Meditate on that today!

Honoring God in All You Do…

Yesterday at church, our Pastor was speaking about the reason why we work. Most people would say it is to earn a living. But, Pastor Ryan took a different approach. We, as Christians, are to do all things as if we were doing it for the Lord, and not man. When we do that, we honor God in all that we do!
The comment that Pastor made that really stuck out in my mind is that we our job does not define who we are. Our identity comes thru Christ alone. So wether we are ditch digger, a bank executive, a doctor, or a caregiver, or a retired homemaker, like me, our identity does not come through the title that goes behind your name.
God is our provider; so as Christians we are to strive to have the right attitude at work, and home for that matter, so we can truly be the salt & light of the world and bring honor to God. We are given the choice to choose life or death in all that we do or say; we should always choose LIFE! Our attitude has a lot to do with the choices we make! If we wake up in the morning with a grumbling spirit, and we struggle to get out of bed, choosing to stay in that attitude will determine the rest of your day!
But, what would your day look like if you were to stop right there and say, “NO! TODAY, I CHOOSE LIFE!” Saying no the flesh, and our stinky attitudes takes work sometimes, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us!
EVERYTHING WE DO MATTERS TO GOD! We need to use the gifts and talents that God has given us to do our jobs, at the workplace or home. Our gifts matter! We are to stop analyzing the gifts God has given us, stop questioning if we are capable or not, and accept teh gifts and start glorifying God in those gifts!
Being the salt & light of your workplace, and in our homes, will bring blessings for you, and for those around you! I know there are those who don’t like working with, or being around people who complain, gossip, or stir up trouble. If you are the person that brings a smile in every day, encourages others, and shares the workload (bringing honor to God), I’m sure others wouldn’t mind working with you, at all! Right?
Pastor Ryan also shared a recent Gallup poll that stated two-thirds of Americans working full-time are only doing the bare minimum, just to get buy; totally unsatisfied, and burned out. “Actively Disengaged” were the words that were used. If you are a part of these Americans, ask the Holy Spirit how you can change your attitude, or ask Him to open doors for a new job someplace else. But, start first by honoring God in the job you currently have, and God will pour out his blessings, his favor, and open doors that no man could have possibly opened before! Honor God and you will reap the benefits!
Ask yourself the following questions: 1) Are you allowing your salt & light to shine? 2) Are you bringing glory and honor to God in your workplace? 3) Are you making God look good in all that you do? Ask God to show you how you can maximize your impact on your workplace!  God needs the Church in the right spots all over the world!
Have you been working for man … or God?
Colossians 3:23-24 NIV – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Proverbs 16:3 NIV – Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
1 Peter 4: 10-11 NIV – Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Matthew 5:13-16 NIV – You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Until next time … Be Blessed!
